How can I find out my lung age?
Visit the Newham Stop Smoking Service Lung Age Roadshow at any one of five locations in Newham between 5 January 2009 and 27 March 2009.
Smokers will have the chance to meet specially trained Stop Smoking Advisors who will carry out your lung age test and be on hand to offer advice on how to stop smoking, as well as providing details of all the stop smoking programmes available to you.

The lung age test is very simple. A trained advisor will record your age, gender, height and population group (e.g. Asian, Black, White etc), then ask you to blow into a small handheld monitor. The age of your lungs will be displayed on the screen.

What happens after my lung test?
You may wish to speak with an advisor about your test result and the ways in which the Newham Stop Smoking Service can help you stop smoking.
If you register for the stop smoking programme on the Roadshow, you will receive:
- An initial consultation about your smoking status
- Free NRT (Nicotine replacement therapy) available on prescription*
- An interactive profile card which will not only track your progress throughout your quit attempt, but will also store individual information about how much money you are saving and the ongoing health benefits of stopping smoking.
- Ongoing support from Newham Stop Smoking Service
- A free goodie bag!
* If you are entitled to free prescriptions
